Being the Hands & Feet of Jesus
The Community Outreach Ministry is committed to expressing Christ's love through practical action in our city. We believe the church exists not just for Sunday mornings but for every neighborhood, every family, and every person in need.
Ongoing Programs
Neighborhood Partnership — We've adopted three neighborhoods within a 5-mile radius. Teams of 4–6 volunteers visit monthly to build relationships, assist with home maintenance, and connect residents with resources.
Back-to-School Drive — Each August, we distribute 300+ backpacks filled with supplies to students at three local Title I schools. Donations collected throughout July.
Holiday Gift Program — In November, families from our partner schools are matched with church families who provide Christmas gifts and a holiday meal. Last year we served 85 families.
Homeless Ministry — Every Saturday morning, a team of volunteers prepares and delivers breakfast to the downtown shelter. We also provide hygiene kits, socks, and seasonal clothing.
ESL Classes — Free English as a Second Language classes offered Tuesday and Thursday evenings in partnership with the local literacy council. Volunteer tutors needed!
Biannual Outreach Days
Twice a year (March and October), our entire church mobilizes for Community Outreach Day. Over 200 volunteers fan out across the city for a full day of service — from neighborhood cleanups and home repairs to food distribution and mentoring events.
Mission Partners
We partner with: Mercy Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity local chapter, Community Hope Center, Lincoln Community Center, and Sunrise Senior Living. These partnerships allow us to have sustained, long-term impact rather than one-time events.
